Morocco Country Guide

I did a search on hostelworld.com and found out that hostels in Morocco are actually more expensive than those in Italy or Spain, which is surprising to me! The cheapest hostel in Fez goes for 35 euros per night, compared to 10 euros in Rome. How do I find cheap hostels in Morocco. People who've travelled to Morocco please.

I'm planning a trip to Spain and Morocco. I've been using a roller bag during my travels. So far it has not been a problem in the countries I've recently visited (South Korea, Japan, USA, Canada), which are developed. This time however, I'm worried a roller bag might not be the best option for Morocco. Would it be wise to buy a backpack instead? People who've been to Morocco please!
